Songwriters’ Sanctuary
Support and encouragement for songwriters
Monthly, dates vary, 7pm - 9pm

£5 suggested donation
We aim to provide a sort of friendly song-clinic for anyone who writes or aspires to write songs.
Each month we will consider a theme (such as lyrics or chord setting) and discuss a specific song. Then people will have the opportunity to do some writing or get some help or advice on whatever is most useful to them: arranging, performing, confidence, getting started, mic technique etc. Each session will end with an opportunity to share if anyone wants to.

Bigton Writers
A friendly, supportive group who come together to share a love of words

If you write - whatever that might be - or feel the need to, this group hopes to encourage: giving us a time and a place to write a little, speak about wir writing and read or just listen to other's writing. No experience necessary, just a love of words. If you fear you're an imposter, you are particularly welcome.

Following the Under the Surface exhibition in 2024 we have always dedicated a corner of our exhibitions for writings and poetry. At Hymhus we always encourage people to share their work, do some writing or enjoy some quiet contemplation!
